A Strategic Alliance for the Elimination of Onchocerciasis
The EMINENCE consortium brings together five leading institutions, united by a common goal: the elimination of onchocerciasis in Africa. This strategic partnership harnesses expertise in clinical research, epidemiology, and public health to drive scientific innovation and accelerate efforts to combat the disease.
Each institution plays a vital role in the project, leveraging its expertise and resources to ensure the success of the clinical trial assessing the efficacy of moxidectin. Through this collaborative approach, EMINENCE plays a key role in advancing scientific knowledge and strengthening disease control strategies, contributing to a sustainable, onchocerciasis-free future.

ISM
Based in Yaounde, Cameroon, ISM, also known as the Centre for Research on Filariasis and Other Tropical Diseases (CRFilMT), is a non-profit association dedicated to health research. Founded in 2005 by Professor Joseph Kamgno, ISM focuses on addressing health issues through applied research and developing surveillance systems to prevent side effects related to mass treatments.

IRD
This French public institution conducts research in partnership with countries in the Global South, particularly in Africa, to contribute to sustainable development and scientific progress. Its expertise spans various fields, including health, environment, and social sciences.

FCRM
Located in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, FCRM is a private research organization dedicated to combating infectious diseases. Established in 2008 by Professor Francine Ntoumi, the foundation focuses on biomedical research, training, and capacity building in Central Africa.

Imperial College
A world-renowned British institution, Imperial College London is acclaimed for its excellence in teaching and research across science, engineering, medicine, and business. Its commitment to medical research significantly contributes to advancements in public health.

MDGH
An Australian non-profit organization, MDGH is devoted to developing medicines for neglected diseases. In 2018, it achieved approval for moxidectin as a treatment for onchocerciasis, marking a major milestone in the fight against this disease.

The EMINENCE project is dedicated to eliminating onchocerciasis in Africa through innovative clinical research and the evaluation of moxidectin to enhance disease control and accelerate eradication efforts.
